About Make It Home
Make It Home is a full-service Senior Move Management company. We assist older adults and their families with the daunting and, often times, overwhelming physical and emotional process of moving from their current residence to a new home. Additionally, we help people of all ages who want assistance with their move or clearing out a family home.
Whether it involves downsizing the family home of many decades or rightsizing a for-ever home, moving to a senior living community or a place near the grandkids (or beach), the planning and execution of late-life transitions can be hard work and exhausting.
Make It Home reduces the worry and angst by providing professional, caring and cost-effective solutions to people who are faced with mid to late-life moves. Our goal is to expertly manage and coordinate the move to ensure our clients are happy and comfortable in their new home.
We adhere to the strict Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice of the National Association of Senior & Specialty Move Managers (NASMM). Every client’s needs are unique; however, the way we treat all our clients is the same, with honesty, respect and kindness.
About the Owner and Founder – Deanna Waters
I started Make It Home, LLC because I recognized that practically everyone I know has experienced a major late-life move that was incredibly difficult for them and their families. I thought there must be a better way to organize and manage all the components of transitioning from one home to another, and I want to be part of the solution. With my extensive background in project and cost management, along with decades of client and supplier relationship building, helping people in this capacity seemed like a natural fit and something I’d really enjoy.
Fast forward to today, my team and I find helping older adults and their families through the challenges of downsizing and transitioning to a new residence incredibly rewarding. Assisting clients of all ages quickly recreate their homes so they can focus their attention elsewhere is equally fulfilling. What we do is transformative and our clients often say, “We couldn’t have done this without you.” Many often say we made moving day fun!
Make It Home, LLC owner and founder Deanna Waters has been awarded the Senior Move Manager-Certified (SMM-C) credential by the National Association of Senior & Specialty Move Managers (NASMM). She is available for speaking engagements on the topics of simplifying the moving process, downsizing, and aging in place, to name a few.
